Port Day Request your ports

Cruise capacity by port and day

Every cruise ship, every port, counted a season ahead.

Port Day joins the published schedules of 43 cruise lines into one figure per port per day: how many ships call, and how many berths they bring. It is built for excursion marketplaces deciding where to add operators, and for destination teams watching the ports they compete with.

One pier is easy. The whole coast is not.

A tour operator in Juneau knows when the ships dock in Juneau. A marketplace with operators in forty ports has a harder question: where to recruit next season, and where it already has more supply than passengers.

The answer is spread across dozens of cruise lines, each publishing only its own ships. Booking systems carry the lines they sell, one sailing at a time. Port Day adds every line together, port by port and day by day, up to four years out.

A berth here is a lower berth: two beds per cabin, the industry's standard measure of capacity. Ships often sail with third and fourth guests in a cabin, so passenger counts usually run above these figures. Hover or tap a bar for the month's ship calls.

What you get

For each port, each day

  • Ships in port and the lower berths they carry, up to four years ahead.
  • Which ships start or end a cruise there, and which turn around the same day.
  • How busy the day is against the rest of that port's year.
  • The cruise lines and ships behind every figure, so you can see who is adding or pulling capacity.
  • A weekly refresh with a list of what changed: new sailings, dropped calls, swapped itineraries.

Delivered as a spreadsheet, a monthly report for your ports, or a feed through the Cruise Itinerary API.

How exact it is

Exact days, estimated days

The first and last day of every cruise are exact. For the stops in between we use the cruise line's own published itinerary wherever we have it, and those days are exact too. Where we do not, we place each call by the sailing distance between ports and flag it as estimated. In Alaska that is 157 of 2,356 calls in the 2027 season, 7%. Monthly and seasonal totals hold up well; an estimated mid-cruise day can be off by one. Until we have checked a port against its own published call schedule, we quote it by week and month, not by day.

Where coverage is thin

Coverage is strongest for lines sold in North America. Some UK and European lines are missing: TUI Cruises and Marella, AIDA, Saga and Fred. Olsen among them. Send us your ports and we will tell you what we hold for each before you commit to anything.
